Stephen G. Pickett Board Chairman & Founder
Stephen G. Pickett is the Founder and Board Chairman of HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC. a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting at-risk youth in underprivileged communities. Hailing from Shreveport, LA, Stephen's mother's courageous decision to escape an abusive marriage and move to Los Angeles with her six children, including Stephen, shaped his early life and instilled in him a deep sense of compassion and a commitment to helping others. From a young age, Stephen exhibited a natural inclination towards community service, organizing initiatives within the Jordan Down Projects in Watts to support his peers and neighbors in need.
With 25 years of experience in Human Resources and 15 years in the nonprofit sector, Stephen has utilized his background to uplift marginalized youth in Los Angeles County, the shipyards of San Francisco, and various startup companies. Armed with a BA in Business Administration from Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA, Stephen's passion lies in exposing young individuals to a range of experiences, from the arts to public speaking, to broaden their horizons and demonstrate that the sky's the limit. Through his tireless efforts, Stephen aims to inspire and empower the next generation to realize their full potential and believe in limitless possibilities.
Jackie L. Mungo Board Co-Chair
Jackie L. Mungo, Board Co-Chair of HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC., is a distinguished leader and community advocate with a wealth of experience in health programs and cancer outreach. As the Founder and CEO of The Healing Institute Global Network, Jackie's ministry revolves around creating a nurturing and healing environment for individuals diagnosed with cancer. With a background as a former Health Programs Manager for African American Outreach at the American Cancer Society, Jackie has played an instrumental role in supporting cancer survivors and promoting cancer awareness in underserved communities. She also serves as a founding member of the African American Task Force of Contra Costa County and actively participates on the boards of various community outreach organizations, including the UCSF Faith Initiative and Friends of Faith.
Jackie's commitment to cancer advocacy extends beyond her professional roles, as she dedicates her time and fundraising expertise to the Women's Cancer Resource Center in Berkeley, California. Her impactful volunteer training on spirituality's role in survivorship has earned her widespread recognition and invitations to facilitate support groups. Jackie's advocacy efforts have included spearheading educational outreach programs, participating in cancer survivor fashion shows, and engaging in speaking engagements to raise cancer awareness and empower survivors. A breast cancer survivor herself for over three decades, Jackie's personal journey fuels her passion for connecting with vulnerable communities, sharing her survivor story, and advocating for prevention, early diagnosis, and access to resources. Her unwavering dedication to the fight against cancer and her relentless advocacy for those affected make her a true warrior and a beacon of hope in the campaign for cancer awareness and survivorship.
Kecia L. Beard Co-Chair
Kecia L. Beard, a dedicated Board Co-Chair of HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC., is a visionary leader with a passion for empowering individuals to unlock their full potential and achieve transformative change. Kecia's innate ability to recognize and harness the opportunities that exist within an organization allows her to bring together diverse perspectives and drive impactful initiatives. With a keen focus on nurturing the strengths and abilities of individuals, Kecia is deeply committed to fostering a supportive environment that empowers youth and communities to thrive. Her role as a parent and grandparent further fuels her dedication to creating a world where all individuals can flourish and reach their fullest potential.
Drawing on over 40 years of experience in management with Los Angeles County, Kecia brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her position as Board Co-Chair. Her background in working with partners, agencies, families, community leaders, and governing bodies positions her as a strategic connector capable of building successful relationships and collaborations. Through her reflective and intuitive nature, Kecia is devoted to delving into the intricacies of organizational dynamics to propel Human Being Reimagined, Inc. forward on a trajectory that supports the growth and well-being of all individuals, particularly the younger generation.
Wanda Saine Board Treasurer
Wanda Saine is a dedicated professional serving as the Board Treasurer at HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC. a nonprofit organization committed to nurturing and empowering young lives. Having grown up in a supportive environment that included family, community, schools, and organizations that invested in her future, Wanda is driven by a desire to pay it forward and positively impact the lives of the next generation. With a fervent belief in the potential of young individuals, Wanda is passionate about helping them navigate the challenges they face and develop into well-rounded individuals.
Throughout her career, Wanda has worked in various roles including babysitting, teacher assistant, and after-school tutor, where she honed her skills in supporting and guiding young people. Her early experiences, including serving as an Assistant to the Neighborhood Youth Corp Administrator during High School, further fueled her passion for helping others and instilled in her a sense of commitment to empowering youth. Wanda's mission is to not only impart valuable life skills such as patience, tolerance, and adaptability to young people but also to inspire them to reach their full potential and thrive in a rapidly changing world. Her dedication to the betterment of youth and her unwavering commitment to fostering their growth make her a valuable asset in the realm of education and empowerment.
Eric Ollison Board Secretary
Eric Ollison is a dedicated community leader and servant at heart, bringing decades of service-oriented experience to his role as Board Secretary for HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC. With a remarkable 39-year tenure at the United States Postal Service, Eric's commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others shines through in his various endeavors. In addition to his role with Human Being Reimagined, Inc., Eric serves as a deacon at his church, where he provides spiritual guidance and mentorship to fellow congregants, embodying unwavering faith and a selfless dedication to supporting those in need.
Beyond his formal roles, Eric is actively involved in serving his local community, always looking for opportunities to uplift and support those around him. Whether he's volunteering at a shelter, lending a helping hand to neighbors, or engaging in various community initiatives, Eric's compassionate spirit and willingness to go above and beyond epitomize his dedication to service and his steadfast commitment to making a positive impact. Ronald James Saine Board Member
Ronald James Saine, an accomplished artist and esteemed Board Member of HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC., traces his creative journey back to his childhood in Oakland, California, where his innate talent for drawing took root. Fostering his passion for the arts, Ronald secured a scholarship to the Junior Center of Arts and Sciences at the age of thirteen, laying the foundation for his artistic pursuits. His educational odyssey led him to Southern California, where he delved into Fashion Design at Los Angeles Trade Technical College before discovering his true calling in drawing, painting, design graphics, illustration, and silk screen, furthering his craft at institutions such as West Los Angeles College, Los Angeles City College, and Dominquez Hills University. Over the years, Ronald's artistic endeavors have garnered widespread acclaim, with a notable achievement in releasing his first published lithograph, "Herbs and Spices," in 1985, catapulting him to the esteemed status of a "Well Known Published Artist."
Ronald's artistry is a profound reflection of his dreams, visions, and emotions, infused with love, joy, fear, and passion that breathe life into his creations. His work, primarily focused on figurative art, encapsulates the essence of humanity, from the intimacy of close-up portraits to the dynamic portrayal of individuals in motion. Vibrant, warm, and sublime colors form the palette through which Ronald encapsulates the striking reality of life, bridging the realms of reality and imagination within his art. Deborah D. Moses Board Member
Deborah D. Moses currently serving as a Board Member for HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC. is a skilled and experienced healthcare professional currently serving as an Administrative Supervisor for Peri-Operative Services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a world-renowned institution. With a focus on the Sterile Processing Department, Deborah is a trusted leader and advisor to the Senior Administrative team, specializing in nurturing and developing the careers of essential workers in healthcare. Her expertise lies in solving complex departmental challenges, leading staffing decisions, and executing operational strategies that impact surgical procedures, patient care, staffing needs, policies, regulations, and financial considerations.
Prior to her role at Cedars-Sinai, Deborah's career journey included managerial positions at Kaiser Permanente and USC University Hospital, where her dedication and work ethic were recognized by prominent figures. Her experience also extends to roles as an Instructor at Prevista Solutions, where she assisted numerous employees at HOAG Presbyterian Hospital in obtaining their Certifications as Central Service Technicians, and as an Instructor of Surgical Technologist Anatomy & Physiology at New Bridge College. Deborah's diverse background encompasses service with the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, where she supervised material and stores, worked with system-impacted individuals, and oversaw the activation of hobby shops at North Kern State Prison. Deborah's qualifications include certifications in surgical technology, Central Service Technician, conflict management training, and instructional credentials from respected organizations within the healthcare and correctional sectors.
Ivan Garcia Board Member
Ivan Garcia, Board Member for HUMAN BEING REIMAGINED, INC. is a result driven healthcare executive with a consistent record of success across the healthcare spectrum. He has served in leadership positions at some of the country’s top medical institution such as, Stanford University Medical Center and UCSF Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, just to name a few. Ivan has held positions in clinical and non-clinical areas. Over his career his has served in a variety of roles, Director of Operations, Director of Supply Chain, and Cardiovascular Service Line Director. Ivan currently holds the position of Administrative Director of Perioperative Services and Corporate Director of Sterile Processing for a leading healthcare system in the San Gabriel Valley. Ivan’s ability to connect, motivate and mentor individuals has led to his continued success. He has lead multi-million dollar construction projects, quality and cost saving initiatives, process redesign projects, implemented new healthcare technological programs and most recently has been instrumental in helping provide the necessary support for all of our healthcare heroes.
Ivan Garcia is first generation Mexican-America. His parents migrated to the United States in the late 1960’s to provide a better life for their children. His parents always stressed the importance of education and giving back to the community. Ivan grew up in the Northern California city of East Palo Alto , where he learned at an early age how to overcome not only social-economic struggles but cultural and language barriers as well. This allowed him to build a strong moral and compassionate foundation that he lives by every day. Ivan holds a Master Degree in Business Administration.
Michael Joseph Beasley Board Member
Michael Joseph Beasley is a dedicated professional with a distinguished career in correctional services, culminating in his role as Associate Warden at the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). With a career that spanned over three decades, Joseph began his journey in 1988 as a Psychometrist at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, eventually progressing through the ranks to Correctional Counselor I and II, Facility Captain, and Correctional Administrator. His tenure also included serving as acting Chief Deputy Warden at Deuel Vocational Institution (DVI), where he honed his expertise in all aspects of prison operations. Throughout his time with CDCR, Joseph acquired extensive knowledge and experience, exemplifying his dedication to maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities.
Following his retirement from the CDCR, Joseph's commitment to serving system-impacted individuals remains unwavering as he continues to facilitate their transition from incarceration to reintegration into society. Recognized for his passion for aiding both current and former incarcerated individuals, Joseph leverages his vast network of resources to support their journey towards a healthy and balanced life. His legacy of advocacy and support underscores his dedication to empowering individuals to navigate the challenges of reentry and rebuild their lives beyond the confines of the justice system.
